He has been proactively engaged in health policy reforms at global, regional, national and subnational levels, advocating for systems approaches and working at scale. He has proactively engaged with Government systems and programs, and supported large scale program planning and monitoring through the organisations that he was with. Rajiv has also led teams and fostered consensus building across multiple stakeholders and constituency groups through various coalitions and alliances like Neglected Tropical Diseases, Parliamentarians Group for Malaria Elimination, RMNCAH Coalition, Partnership for Maternal Newborn Child Health, Coalition for Sustainable Nutrition Secure India, and Health Systems Strengthening.

In February 2024, he ended his regular job as Health Director at RTI and continues to participate in (through invitations or initiative) various platforms and projects over the year – as a Member of Ministry of Health’s Home Based Newborn and Young Child Care TAG, as a Resource Person of the South-Asia Regional Coordinating Mechanism Foundation (The Global Fund) in India-Bhutan Malaria elimination, as an Advisor to the Society of Vector Ecology, and as a Member of the Rotary Club of Delhi South Metropolitan’s Livelihood-Health-Nutrition initiative. And is visiting faculty with Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Chennai; KLE Academy of Higher Education & Research, Belgaum; and Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education and Research, Wardha.

He has set up TheHealthContinuum, a platform offering advisory services, technical assistance, and innovative solutions around Public Health with a view to break down silos and work through ‘continuums’ – across life stages and locations, beyond diseases to wellbeing, from human to planet. I have found support from many individuals and institutions to guide, grow, and build this work. Rajiv has also joined Dukh Nivaran Samiti, a multi-specialty charitable clinic in Delhi as its Director (Medical and Public Health). Along with improving medical care and health services for disadvantaged communities.

She has been and AOR 18 times and COR for 11 times for USAID-funded projects. She had the privilege of being site officer for three POTUS visits (President Clinton, President Bush, and President Obama); an ICT for Development project she had designed was selected and announced by President Clinton during his POTUS visit. She is responsible for taking USAID/India into many green field development initiatives. In 2017 she became the first (and to date, the only)foreign service national whosedevelopment experience has been captured under USAID’s Foreign Affairs Oral History Project and is available at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. In 2021 October, she was invited as the Keynote Speaker at the USAID Alumnae Association’s Annual General Meeting that was held in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Gupta has an MBA from the George Washington University and an B.Sc in Economics. Her hobbies are writing and illustrating children’s stories, painting, photography and travelling. 

She has subject matter expertise in maternal and child health, nutrition, sexual and reproductive health and family planning. She has experience of working with cross-cutting themes such as health worker training, health systems strengthening, urban health, e-learning and digital health. She is adept at using Monitoring and Evaluation frameworks to keep projects laser focused on results. She has experience in developing and executing monitoring systems for the data to be used for program improvements. She has led multi-disciplinary teams to directly implement projects in large provincial geographies in India and has managed annual budgets up to USD20 million. She has worked with bilateral donors, governments and national and international NGOs including USAID, BMGF, FHI360, PATH, Mamta and IntraHealth International. She is a trained physician with a Master’s degree in Community Medicine from Delhi University.
